Finding 4c hair products that actually work and that have ingredients your hair will love is a struggle. There are 100’s of hair products in the store that market themselves as “for every hair type” but the truth is it’s not always that simple.
Us 4b/4c hair people don’t have the luxury of just reaching for any ole product to wash, style, and moisturize our hair. In fact, if you get a really, really wrong product – good luck! You’ll most likely have a dry, brittle, nappy, hard hair day ahead of you.
Good 4c hair products are moisturizing, strengthening, lengthening, nutritional, and most of all, help get your style snatched! Is that too much to ask for? Of course not! That’s why we put together this list of our favorite (and affordable) 4c hair products. These staples are always a part of our routine!
1. EBIN Extreme Firm Hold Edge Control
The holy grail of edge control. I struggled for years trying to find something that would actually slick down my edges and keep them looking hydrated all day. But all I would get is a wavy, flaky, watery, white gunk mess- until I found this. Put it on your edges and use your edge brush to start shaping the swirls however you please!
Tip: I’ve found that getting a little water on your finger, putting it over your styled edges, then setting it with a hair scarf is the best method. Those edges won’t move an inch until you tell them too!
2. Carol’s Daughter Goddess Strength Shampoo
A shampoo that gets your hair and scalp clean but doesn’t strip away moisture is a great foundation for healthy curly hair. It is made with a natural blend with castor oil, ginger, and black cumin seed to strengthen and lengthen hair.
3. Carol’s Daughter Goddess Strength Conditioner
Made with all the same key ingredients as the shampoo, this combo claims to make hair 15x stronger in one use. It locks in moisture, leaves hair feeling silky, and helps detangle hair for an “easy” comb out (well-as easy as it’s going to be with 4c hair).
4. Palmer’s Protein Pack
