There are plenty of beautiful photo ops with views of the grassy hills and grape vines as a background. Not to mention, you get to experience all types of new wines! Even if you’re not necessarily a “wine person” this will be a blast for the whole crew.
So, how much is this going to cost you? We get it- finding affordable things to do as an adult can be difficult. Surprisingly, wine tasting for beginners may not be as expensive as you think. In fact, we’re about to let you know how to go wine tasting in Temecula for $30 or less. Entrance and parking is free and no reservation is required, so all you have to worry about is drinks and food. Go dressed casual or dressed up, the decision is yours. Such a great affordable date idea!
How It Works
You get six pours of wine with your tasting and can also buy by the glass for an additional cost. You will be given a stamp card with six spots on it that the wine expert will check off every time you get a new taste. And of course, you must be 21 or older to drink.
Best Wine Tasting For Beginners In Temecula For $30 Or Less
1. Wilson Creek Winery
Wilson Creek has a huge venue with an upper and lower seating level. The lower level is more of a discrete private location. There is a small bridge, creek, and seating area. On the upper level is where all the fun is at- a beautiful courtyard, lounging couches and personal canopies for you and your friend to sit under, a specialty restaurant, and of course the wine tasting. You can also walk up a few stairs into their vineyard area where there are rows of grapevines lined across acres of land.
Wine tasting at Wilson Creek cost $25 Monday- Thursday and $30 Friday-Sunday. There is a full menu of white, red, and sparkling wines to select from (and they’re not stingy ;)).
Tip: When starting your wine tasting for beginners journey, try the Sparkling Peach Wine and end with the Dessert Wine. Also try the Wine Slushie and Scallop Risotto from the restaurant. Yum!
2. Leoness Cellars
Don’t judge a book by its cover! Leoness Cellars is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the street. The upper level is where you can see the vineyard and get a fantastic photo op. The lower level is where you will get your tastings, look out at the views, and listen to live music performed on their lower deck. Not to mention eat at the restaurant and get cozy in the outdoor heated area on chilly nights.
Since this winery is more laid-back, it is perfect for beginners who just want to gain in-depth knowledge about wines from more experienced drinkers.
Groupon has a great deal for this winery! 2 people for $39 total ($19.50 each) or $20 per person if you want to go solo.
3. Danza Del Sol
Danza Del Sol is a smaller, more lowkey winery. But that doesn’t mean the wines and scenery aren’t still fantastic. Out front they have a shaded seated area set up like a nice family style patio. Great for small gatherings, a chill date, or for first time wine drinkers who want to introduce themselves to wine without the big cost. You can also walk up to where their members-only building is to see the valley down below. There is no restaurant on site, although small snacks are available.
THIS is the winery for you if you are on a really tight budget. You can visit Danza for just $12.50 per person ($25 total) if you buy tickets on Groupon now (while supplies last).
Cheers to trying out new (and affordable!) experiences. We hope you have so much fun on your wine tasting journey.
