Ahhh- what better way to kick off Fall in SoCal then by visiting a Fall festival? The spirit of the season is all around you! Pumpkin patches, warm apple cider, Fall-style outfits, and beautiful Autumn colors are sure to get the vibes flowing.
Finding these warm, comfy vibes doesn’t have to make your pockets run cold. There are plenty of Fall Festival Events in SoCal that are affordable and worth every second.

1. Oak Glen
Oak Glen is a small mountain community located in SoCal that is the perfect place for Fall. There is brisk fall air, leaves changing color, and matching flannel photo spots everywhere. Here are some of our must-stop spots in the community.
Snowline Orchard
At Snowline Orchard you can do seasonal apple and raspberry picking at select times during the year. They are also well known for their apple cider donuts and fresh baked apple cider mini donuts. For the 21+ crowd, there is a winery where you can try different apple-brewed wines and hard ciders.
Oak Tree Mountain
Another amazing spot in Oak glen is Oak Tree Mountain. Its just a few minutes drive from the orchard and so worth it. Here you can ride North America’s largest outdoor, all -weather, tubing slide. It’s $8 per person and only open on weekends.
It’s also home to Apple Annie’s homemade bakery and restaurant, famous for it’s 5-pound mile-high apple pie. Come with an appetite!
2. Live Oak Pumpkin Patch
Live Oak is an all time favorite during Christmas time, and their Fall festival doesn’t disappoint either! With over 70 rides, games, attractions, and photo ops it’s one of the largest pumpkin patches around. General admission gets you access to over 28 attractions, photo ops, and activities plus live music. Food and games can be purchased for an additional price.
The pumpkin patch is open from Sept 20-Nov 2. Admission starts at $12 for children and $17 for adults and continuously gets higher close to Halloween. Senior and military discount get $2 off admission price and children under 2 are free.
3. Oktoberfest
Celebrate authentic German culture, food, and beer at Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest is a huge fall festival in Germany that includes dressing in traditional lederhosen and dirndls, eating German style bratwurst, doing the chicken dance, and drinking premium German beers. Super cool, right?
If you can’t afford to travel to Germany this fall, don’t worry. SoCal has got plenty of its own versions all around town! Pricing and dates depend on each event and what is included in the ticket.
Montrose Oktoberfest
For a completely free experience, visit Montrose Oktoberfest on Saturday October 5. Admission is free but food, drinks, and rides can be purchased additionally a la carte.
Simi Valley Oktoberfest

4. Frosty’s Pumpkin Patch
Frosty’s Forest Pumpkin Patch is not your typical fall festival event. Along with the usual photo ops, food, rides, and fun, Frosty’s offers a 4-acre corn field maze, a corn cob beach, and even camel rides on select days! Not to mention, all the art displays for photo-ops are made by local artists- a great way to support the community!
Looking for some spooky things to do? They also host an awesome haunted Halloween corn maze!
Frosty’s admission is $5-$10 Tuesday-Sunday. Monday is free for all ages! Hours range from 4pm-11pm on weekdays and 10pm-11pm on weekends.
5. Descanso Gardens Carved
Listed as one of our favorite affordable summer things to do in SoCal, Descanso Gardens beauty shines year round! On October nights, it comes to life with thousands of lights, lit jack-o-lanterns, wood carved sculptures, and glowing rides on the Descanso Railroad.
This event is daily Oct 4-30 from 6pm-10pm. Tickets for adult non-members range from $35-$45 and children $25-$30. Children under 2 are free.
