A lot of people don’t know that scholarship websites aren’t only for need-based scholarships. They offer merit-based scholarships, internships, fellowships, grad school scholarships, and grants. The amount of free money for college students out there is endless. Whether you’re a senior in high school about to start on your college journey, a college senior just trying to get done, or anything in between- there’s a scholarship for you! 2. Scholarships.com
There’s no point in sorting through hundreds of scholarships by hand just to find out you don’t meet the requirements for most of them. Scholarships.com matches scholarships to applicants. Fill out a profile and answer a few questions to find ones that are right for you.
3. AAWCC
Where my ladies at? This opportunity is open to woman currently attending community college or transferring from community to a 4-year. So if that’s you, you’re in luck! They award up to 8 $500 scholarships to use toward your educational goals. There’s also one $1500 scholarship for women pursuing a doctoral degree.
4. Niche
Niche can be used by anyone, but it’s specifically helpful for high school seniors and juniors. Not only do they provide scholarships, they also help you search and rank colleges and grad schools to find the one that feels best for you. Perfect if you still don’t know what school you want to attend.
5. College Board

6. Scholarship Owl
It’s super easy to find scholarships when they’re sorted by award amount, deadlines, requirements, and numbers of winners. That’s Scholarship Owl! They will even resubmit your application automatically to scholarships that only require basic information. Just imagine winning a scholarship that you haven’t filled out for years.
7. Going Merry
How annoying is it to have to write out the same thing for every scholarship application you fill out? Well with going merry you don’t have to. When you fill out your information once it’ll be applied to multiple applications at the same time. What a time saver! It’ll even find you local scholarships that most big websites won’t show.
8. NAACP
The NAACP helps brilliant people of color get the recognition and financial help they need. Most of the scholarships offered here are merit-based, meaning you have to have good grades. A 3.0 GPA or above is usually the standard requirement. This is a great option if you usually don’t qualify for financial aid because your family’s income is “too high” but still really need some money.
9. Your School’s Scholarship Office
Don’t forget to check your school’s scholarship office! These are the easiest scholarships to get (in my opinion) because it’s only open to your school’s population. That means less competition and more familiarity. Heck, someone you know, like a teacher or faculty member, might even be on the scholarship board to judge who wins. That’s why it’s important to network and make connections throughout the school year. 😉
